The parallel articulation of the orthosis allows for easy and aligned dorsal extension and plantar flexion of the upper ankle. Strong polypropylene shells prevent inversion and eversion movements. The lower strap, from the distal/lateral to the dorsal/proximal region, prevents displacement of the talus and protects the anterior fibulotalar ligament. This is unique to articulated ankle orthoses and supports the prevention of joint injuries in active sports.
