Cervical-Thoracic Orthosis type SOMI - PRIM IMO

Cervical-thoracic orthosis type SOMI, which keeps the cervical spine immobile.

Allows the immobilization of the user after traumatic injury, as it guarantees greater support than a cervical collar.

Composed of a mandibular and occipital section, which are fixed to a thoracic plate through two metal bars located behind the head and by an anterior support in the mandible. This structure is fixed, in turn, to a central piece that rests on the chest like a rigid vest.

The mandibular support piece is intended for use during the day, but can be easily removed and replaced with the front support piece to perform activities that require jaw use, such as eating.

Possibility of adaptation to patients undergoing traction.

Indications:

  • Severe pain in the neck.
  • Cervicobrachialgia of compressive origin.
  • Serious trauma.
  • Postoperative neck fracture.
  • Cervical osteoarthritis.
  • Inflammatory process that causes contracture.
