Knee immobilizer with posterior tibial support - medi PTS®

Characteristics:

• Splint for knee immobilization for the treatment of cruciate ligament injuries or after implantation of a patella prosthesis.
• With the help of the calf pellet, the leg can be supported in an anterior position (in relation to the thigh) and immobilize the patella. Therefore, the pressure on the patella is reduced and the posterior cruciate ligament is relieved.
• Often used in the first phase of treatment immediately after an injury (trauma) or surgery (post-operative) to the posterior cruciate ligament. The orthosis ensures that the knee is immobilized in an extended position (0°), which can reduce pain.
• Thanks to the three-part design and velcro closure, medi PTS® can be easily adjusted to the user's leg circumference. This is particularly important after trauma or in the early stages after surgery when the knee is often swollen.

Indications:

• Rear anterior cruciate ligament injuries (post-traumatic/post-operative)
• Postoperative period after knee dislocation
• Complex ligament injuries (post-traumatic/post-operative)
• Tendon injuries (post-traumatic/post-operative)

Contraindications:

• Deep vein thrombosis of the leg and thigh
• Isolated anterior cruciate ligament rupture or insufficiency
